Heirloom Trend

Vintage Trend Flowers

Flowers unearth the emotions that inspire the human sprit.

Thru the many textures, shapes and colors they unleash the creativity in many floral designers as well. As an event designer I have seen over the past 2 years an overwhelming number of brides attracted to the Vintage Style sometimes referred to as the heirloom trend.

This style of design embraces the past in a romantic manner with a touch of modern elements added for good measure. The Vintage/heirloom trend has a subjective color palette of muted hues including soft to medium pinks, blush peaches, butter creams, sage greens. It may also have punches of warm golden yellows and browns and even gray to charcoal.

Some of the most commonly used flowers in this style include the old time favorite Gypsophila (babies breath) garden roses, stock, peony, succulents, craspedia (billy balls) with dusty miller as foliage.

Many of our brides will include accents of burlap, chalkboards, mason jars or mercury glass to reflect the heirloom feel. There is such a wide selection for brides to create a modern feel with a nostalgic twist.
